Meet Decatur Image Consultant: Toni Murphy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Murphy.

Toni, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started off styling my co-workers and friends which helped me get more comfortable and knowledgeable behind the camera.  That eventually led to styling actual clients. I moved to Atlanta in 2012 for an internship at Compelled Boutique where I was a fashion assistant. The internship opened my eyes to running a business and showed me the avenues that I had to take to be successful. I continued to work and build my clientele around Atlanta. I launched Top Style Branding in 2015. Top Style Branding is more than a styling company, it’s a one-stop shop to receive a new outlook on building and maintaing your personal style while establishing your brand.

As my company grows, I want my work to reflect the same. I’m excited about what the future holds for me and Top Style Branding!

Has it been a smooth road?
Building a career from scratch is very difficult. Building a clientele is already difficult, but building a paying clientele is even harder at times. Gaining the trust of the public is my main focus right now. I want the public to always leave my company with personal style and personal growth that will help them succeed in their business and life.

What’s the hardest part of your job?
I would say the hardest part of my job would be finding and maintaining relationships with people that can enhance my company. I run into people who say they are serious about their work/business but don’t show up when needed. So the hardest part right now is gaining great partnerships with the right people.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as happiness with yourself first. Once your happy with who you are,your goals will follow. As long as I’m waking up everyday and get the opportunity to express who I am through my work. That’s success!

So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
I am looking forward to growing my company over the next few years. I want to create a line for women that is not only affordable but trendy. I also love helping bring others visions to life so in the future I am thinking about expanding my branding department.
