Meet Kyanah Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyanah Martinez.

Kyanah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
So as far as modeling, I started in high school but stopped and I wasn’t consistent with it until I graduated high school. Once I graduated, I met up with my good sister Robrice. She needed a model for her brand and I became a model & ambassador for her brand. She introduced me to her business associate Amadi. He also has his own brand and I’ve done a few photoshoots for his brand as well. I then became consistent with it own my own. As far as my clothing brand; they both motivated me to go ahead and start my own business. I’ve always wanted to make clothes but I didn’t know how to sew and a good friend of mine bought a sewing machine for me as a Christmas gift and I’m very thankful for it because I still use it till this day. That sewing machine has gotten me very far. Long story short Robrice & Amadi both collaborated with me & taught me how to sew.

Has it been a smooth road?
As far as my challenges … there’s has definitely been some bumpy rides along the road but I got through them. There were times that I wanted to give up, times where I didn’t have enough money to buy the materials I needed for my brand, times that I got really frustrated because the hype & the process for my brand wasn’t moving at the pace that I wanted it to.. I also couldn’t find my own personal photographer but then I met a guy that also became my boyfriend and he’s a photographer and now he takes my photos for me and it all goes hand and hand. We’re helping each other’s businesses grow at the same time.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a Fashion Model & a Fashion/Custom Designer. I have modeled in plenty of fashion shows, I’ve done a lot of photoshoots, I’ve networked with people all over the city of Atlanta,& I’ve even met a lot of famous people. I’ve sold plenty of outfits and my clothing brand “originative7” just gets better by the day. Every time a customer had requested a certain design/outfit, I’ve done it exactly how they wanted it or better, and if I didn’t… I made sure I fixed it so that they could be more than satisfied.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hmmm…..I believe my individuality is was sets me apart from everyone else. My appearance is even unique, I change my hair literally every week… My style is all over different… and this is why I believe fashion is my expertise.
