Meet East Atlanta Professional Hairstylist: Cree Doomes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cree Doomes.

Cree, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Originally from Florida, I relocated to Atlanta 3 years ago, by way of Savannah. I’ve always had a passion for hair styling since elementary school. I would style all of my friend’s hair until we graduated and went our separate ways. I always knew that Atlanta was where I needed to be so once I got here, I hit the ground running. When I arrived in Atlanta I did a lot of networking with makeup artists, fashion stylists, models, and photographers. My networking landed me jobs as a Platform Artists for major hair and fashion shows, Freelance jobs on major video sets and high profile clients. I now have a salon suite called Textures Blowout Bar. My goal is to open several within the Atlanta Metro area and then WORLDWIDE.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road hasn’t been easy. By relocating and not knowing anyone, I had to build new clientele and build a name for myself. The hardest part was finding a professional salon that was the right fit for me. I worked at different 8 salons while trying to build clientele. It was tough, but perseverance and determination always win. I currently own a Salon Suite with a thriving clientele.

What’s the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part about my job is juggling the demands of my clients and the demands of my kids. They’re in every sport and club imaginable so I have to cut some days short and work longer on others. It’s demanding at times, but I love every minute of it and wouldn’t change it for the world.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success by the joy that I get from servicing my clients. Everyday that I get to wake up and do what I love, I’m successful. When I’m servicing a client and I turn them around to look in the mirror the smiles, tears, and the confidence they exude touches my soul. Knowing that I can impact people and change their lives simply by giving them a new look empowers me and by having this gift I am very successful.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future consists of expanding my business from suite to a storefront location. I hope to have a Textures Blowout Bar in every major city along with my own brand of styling tools and hair products. I see Textures Blowout Bar franchises in my future and I look forward to leaving a legacy for my children to build on and continue to carry the brand name.
