Before I got into the store business, I was signed to Young Jeezy & pursuing life as an aspiring rap star. Things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to so I walked away from a multimillion-dollar situation, despite what my friends and family said. Once I was no longer signed artist, those same friends and family VANISHED until I was left completely alone. I went back to the drawing board and to figure something out and I had to do it FAST because I had kids and real responsibilities were in front of me. A late friend of mine by the name of William Respress, aka Stoopid Mook (RIP), introduced me to selling cable for Comcast as an independent contractor. Working as an independent contractor meant I ain’t have to go & work at an ACTUAL XFINITY LOCATION, we sold it independently in groups & got paid according to how many sales and installs we had. I did pretty good rising to manager within 30 days & taking my own team down to Miami to further my talents. The cable game began slowing down a bit & I had to think of something else to stay afloat. The only REAL ASSET I had was the minivan I bought to carry my crew to Miami to work with Comcast….🤔….why not take the Xfinity decals off & make it an Ice Cream truck until I can get things back going with my music career & life itself. One of my High School buddies had called me prior to and told me that I should start selling Ice Cream but I laughed it off saying, “Ima RAPPER, what I look like selling Ice Cream?!” He was selling Ice Cream already & told me the type of money that was into it so once things got bad, I was like, hey, let me give it a shot…..I ain’t got nothing to lose. I called on my friend to see if I could work with him on his truck (like previously discussed when I wasn’t ready) but he stalled me off for a bit, then just decided not to give me the opportunity AT ALL. That’s how the minivan even came into play…. I started going to every neighborhood I used to frequent when I ran the streets as a rapper but did it with my Ice Cream truck this time. After a few months, I started to realize that I was making more money selling ICE CREAM than being a rapper signed to one of the BIGGEST ARTIST IN THE WORLD! How was that even possible??? I was SOLD, I just had one other problem……I had to figure out how to survive through the winter months???? The Ice Cream DEFINITELY influenced me to make my next move to open my own stores, but I wanted to do it MOBILY, since I was already mobile. I thought to myself, it’s hot in Atlanta 9 out of the 12 months, if I created me my own store, I could be on top of the WORLD! In 2016, I started a company called “CME Goods2Go” but I didn’t have the credit to what I’m able to do now. I bought me a 2017 Sprinter, went to Walmart & Staples for some stick-on letters & patched me something together. Although the company was called “CME Goods2Go,” I had the slogan, “Your local Corner Store on Wheels” on the left side in BOLD LETTERS. Who would have thought that my GOLDEN BUSINESS NAME would have come from a slogan I had on my previous business??? I had to dissolve the business due to some “brand bashing” by a group of hating individuals. I, Antonio Henry, also known as “ATL Bama” in the rap world, came up with the world’s first mobile corner store! It’s been A LOT OF PEOPLE trying to infiltrate and refer to what they are doing to CORNER STORE ON WHEELS, but there is ONLY ONE true “Corner Store On Wheels” and I own it…. WE THE ORIGINALS! Ever since I launched my business here in Atlanta, there has been SEVERAL BUSINESSES trying to alter their business models similar to mine. I made HISTORY here in Atlanta & gone continue to as long as I’m ALIVE‼️🙏🏾 🙌🏾
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing GREAT comes SMOOTH….I had to overcome several obstacles along the way. The minivan transmission went out, the girl I was talking to at the time smashed my childhood friend and we just had a child, the next truck I got was my very first Sprinter but it ended up getting repoed since I was just selling ICE CREAM & still making payments, couldn’t make it thru the winter & catch back up, the best friend who I got an Audi car for left me hanging & I was sleeping outside in my van with my newly born child, no way to properly clean myself or eat right…..yeah, I had it ROUGH getting to where I am. The people I had around me did EVERYTHING TO STOP ME from succeeding but I hung in there & MADE IT OUT!🙏🏾🤞🏾

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
‘CSOW’ is planning on opening the franchise doors in 2021! We’ve received A LOT of positive feedback & other business personnel who wants to join forces to expand their own business ideas and careers, we’re open to that. I’m just getting the paperwork end together because we already have multiple trucks up & running. Soon there will be a “Corner Store On Wheels” truck in every hood, on every corner, in every county, city, country KNOWN TO MAN…..we working!
