Meet Kaelyn Jackson of Brick City Couture in Clayton County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaelyn Jackson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kaelyn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always had a love for fashion. As far as clothing, accessories, hairstyles, etc. Anything that you would consider a part of fashion I always tried to stay up to date on. In this generation I feel that the latest trends are per say important to us. So, I figured why not try to sell these things to my peers? It was always just a thought of mine that I never took the initiative to pursue. That is, until one day I started browsing the web & thought to myself you know what. I’m going to purchase these things and start myself a boutique. I started Brick City Couture in July. I sell vendor lists, eyelashes, clothing, phone accessories, jewelry & more.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wouldn’t say the road has been necessarily smooth, but it wasn’t very hard either. Knowing exactly what I wanted my business to offer made it easy to start. I would say that I struggled with getting my business out there more than anything else. You know, you have to have the right audience on social media platforms to really pick up traffic to your business. I have begun to get some traffic and views, but I know that in the long run it’ll expand even more and have an even bigger Audience.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is Brick City Couture. Which is a small online boutique. I don’t specialize in anything particular. I really just try to focus on what I know most females like. So, anything you may be looking for whether it’s jewelry down to eyelashes I have. What I am most proud of as a company is the perseverance that is involved. Starting a company isn’t an easy task, so you have to be very involved and willing to do what it takes to succeed. I feel that what sets me apart from others is that although I follow the newest trends, I try not to have the same thing that every other boutique has.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to have an actual store front where customers can physically come in and shop.
