Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Gaines.

Nicole, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started The Clarity Shop two years ago to create an outlet for me to say connected to my creative and mental wellness side. By day I am a nurse working in the medical device sales industry and with that comes a very stressful, high volume environment. I knew that I needed to tap into the things that soothed my soul so it was easy to bring music and candles together for my business. Music touches everyone because of its wide spectrum of genres and emotion evoked lyrics and candles naturally create a whole vibe so it was a no brainer create an experience that my customers can enjoy within their own spaces.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Naturally as a full-time career woman, it has been challenging in ways to run a small business but I am committed to protecting and evolving my craft. Time management in the past has been a challenge as work, motherhood, and business tend to intertwine at times but I have and, in some ways, still learning to manage my time and resources.

We’d love to hear more about the business.
I make natural coconut wax blended candles that are accompanied with musical playlists to enjoy as you burn your candles. My candles are inspired by different songs amongst different vibes to create an overall vibe for my customers. Need a pick me up well I have So Clean. In need of some alone time to reflect, then I have Reflections for you. I am so proud of the products that I curate on my own because it allows me to display a small portion of who I am and the things that are soothing to my soul.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is having an overall sense of peace and accomplished purpose within thine self. If anything, this year has taught us all that success and living life is not determined solely by financial assets or status. To me, purpose in whatever way based on each individual, is the thing that allows you to move throughout life in a more successful or fulfilled way of life.
