Meet Marvin Constant of 40 Plus Strong in North Side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marvin Constant.

Marvin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I suffered a knee injury that changed my life and I gain a lot of weight. Got up to around 300 pounds, then I decided it was time to change my life. As a former athlete and strength coach, I know how to work out and just had to get back to the basics. People started DMing me asking fitness questions and to train them, but I have a busy schedule. So I did the next best thing wrote a fitness book for individuals such as myself. The over 40 crowds.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a challenge with holidays and just getting older. At this age. The body does not work the way it uses to.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
My book is one that will change lives. I have already changed the lives of several individuals and I’m looking to continue changing lives. I even implemented my program on my son and he lost 82 pounds in 18 months. The thing that sets me apart from the rest of the industry is the effectiveness of my program and the price. Most trainers and fitness people charge people an arm and a leg to get in shape. I priced my book at the same price as a restaurant cheeseburger $12.99.

What were you like growing up?
I was a great athlete considered to be one of the best in the country. I played football for the University of Alabama, where I earned ALL-SEC honors. I’ve always been driven to be the best at whatever I have decided to do in life. Working out has always been one of the things I enjoyed doing, but due to multiple knee surgeries, six to be exact, it’s been a challenge.
