Meet Raven Greene of New Moon Visuals in Charleston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Greene.

Raven, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Raven B. Greene. I’m 24 years old and I’m from Charleston, SC. I started new moon visuals in 2015 and I’ve been blessed to keep using my talent to tell stories and create memories. I wanted to use my gift to express who I am as a person. It was always hard for me to describe what I wanted but once I get behind the camera, it’s like nothing can stop me. I feel untouchable when it comes to being a photographer.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some of my struggles was being told photography wasn’t a “real job” that made me want to work harder and prove everyone wrong. I wanted to be someone who believes in following dreams and ignoring what people said. I’ve been told countless times that I’m the boss of my life and I can do whatever I put my mind to. That was my way of pushing through all the depression and learning how to stay strong. It was a hard process but I’m forever grateful for how much I grew as a person.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a photographer and now I’m learning videography. I recently started modeling as well but I don’t consider myself as a model “yet,” but I’m working on building my brand in different ways. I want to offer more. I currently mentor young adults and I’m working on getting more equipment so I can have my own studio for my community to use for a great price. I want to be able to help everyone chase their dreams so I’m going to use my platform to push that.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta. I see myself getting more clients here. It’s a beautiful place to network and visit. I love having family and friends here.
