Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Malone.
Andrew, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been a person of style and fashion but I would say around 2013, I picked up a sewing machine, went on YouTube and taught myself how to sew. The reason being I could never find jeans to fit the way I liked. So I guess it’s safe to say I started off altering. I began posting on Instagram, which led me to get customers who wanted my services. I thought of how I could expand my talent and I would say around 2017, I came up with my brand OddPhashion/OPH Designs. I began customizing denim pants and jackets, which evolved into me customizing and reconstructing all types of clothing today.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has its ups and downs but for the most part, it’s pretty easy going because good quality clothes will always be in demand!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
OPH Designs applies design, aesthetics and natural beauty to taylor made clothing. Using creativity and imagination to invent or reinvent fashion. In other words, you can’t find this drip in stores.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck. I believe you receive what you put out there. As long as you’re hard-working and dedicated to what it is that you do and you have a good quality product, you’ll go as far as you want.
