Today we’d like to introduce you to SlickDa3rd.
SlickDa3rd, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a 20-year-old entrepreneur from the Chicago land area. I moved to Atlanta to extend my brand and to help extend my network connections. I first started making music at the age of 10 when my stepdad brought home FL studio for his own purposes. I learned the program quickly and been glued ever since. I don’t like to put myself in a box. I’m a young creative that has a lot of vision. When I work with artists, I enjoy to bring life out of the music that we create. I produce the record, engineer it, and create graphics and motion graphics for the song. I started working with graphics around the same age that I was introduced to making beats.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wouldn’t say it has been a smooth road. When you want to achieve something great, it always comes with sacrifice and challenges. I finished high school at 16 by getting my GED so I could focus full time on what I love to do. Most people at that age aren’t even thinking in that manner. I was. Being young is also a disadvantage because most people think that just because of my age that I do not know a lot that I know. But this is also an advantage because I get to shock others that work with me all the time.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Did It Again Music – what should we know?
Did It Again Music is a multimedia production company that was founded by me 2 years ago. We specialize in producing music for major and independent artists, mixing and mastering, and graphics and motion graphics for artists as well. I am most proud of the quality that my company provides for our customers. Quality really matters to me, and if it is not up to standard, I will not release it at all.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve had a lot of people give me great advice along the way. Too many to name. But one thing that always stuck with me was when I was having a great conversation with producer, Young Chop. He was telling me to “learn the game because no one will teach you. You have to learn and understand it for yourself.”
