Today we’d like to introduce you to Saville the Artist.
Saville the Artist is an Atlanta native and has recently returned to Buckhead to grow into the new era of art and life. Having been in the business for 16 years, Saville’s enthusiasm for culture and community has allowed her to settle into Peachtree Road as Atlanta’s leading artist and entrepreneur. Her painting technique is often described as a ‘bold use of color and texture’ and is widely known for her use of heavy brush strokes in her animal paintings. As she prepares to drop her new collection in February, Saville’s creativity is in play in her studio daily. Drop-in during evening hours for conversation and culture.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road for an artist, but I welcome the speed bumps! Challenges always allow an entrepreneur to settle and focus on positive growth wisely, and I tend to face them head-on with a smile. Staying clear-minded and focused while I create my path allows me to focus on my community along the way. I began moving the Buckhead location the first week of March 2020, so you can imagine my shock at the challenges that lay ahead of me even within the first few days. However, with this being my 16th year in business, it is easy now to take a challenge and thread the better pieces into growth. There will always be large negatives with any challenge, and after surviving 2020, we all can take away the idea of pivoting into positivity.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a classically trained oil painter, known for my bold colors and heavy texture. Because I create using my customized brushes and hundreds of palette knives, my finished pieces and have clarity and a rich saturation not found with most other artists. Differently than other paint artists, I “drop an album collection” every year that debuts in late winter/early spring. The collection debut lasts over a weekend and is an event in itself. Typically we see thousands through the door to view the artwork and experience the excitement of the year’s theme. For 2021, the Saville collection follows the garden of Eden, and guests are invited to walk through the world of grounded partnership versus temptation, commitment versus morality, and truth versus intention. Come with an open mind, and leave with an experience like no other. The show is set in a maze-form, with a walk-through style made to be covid-friendly. Guests can walk through the show alone or in personal groups to enjoy the culture.
