Exploring Life & Business with Tyler Snow of Polished Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Snow.

Hi Tyler, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I moved to Georgia in 2013 to attend Clark Atlanta University. I attended Clark my freshman year, then moved on to complete my Biology Degree at Clayton State University. While I was in school, I started working for a restaurant chain as a host. I was promoted to a server and then bartender soon after. In 2019, I started working for another restaurant helping develop drink menus and concept ideas. This is when the wheels for bigger and better things started turning. Even though I wanted to utilize my Biology degree, I had developed a love for the food and beverage industry. From this, Polished Training was birthed. The idea of Polished Training came from me wanting to use the skills and knowledge I gained to educate people on food, wines, and more. I enjoy preparing and serving unique, as well as classic meals for others to enjoy. I started out cooking for friends and family and small events. My business has since grown, and I now offer catering services for both small and large dinning events. I also host interactive cooking and mixology classes, teaching how to make signature cocktails and how to properly pair wines with food. I recently launched Polished seasoning collection, and this is just the beginning for what is to come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating a company is never an easy task. I had to think long and hard about what would make Polished unique. I reached and prayed for direction. I started to think about all of the different avenues I wanted to go in. After writing out many ideas I just knew I was ready to launch. Unfortunately, the pandemic had other plans. My direction for the company took a quick turn due to COVID-19. I had to not only think outside the box but I had to create the box when it came to Polished. I strategized a way to still be safe but get my brand out there. I started thinking of things that people could do at home. I slowly gained following by posting appetizing photos and recipes. I then started hosting interactive cooking and mixology classes. Now having a day job and a business is truly the ultimate juggling act. However, when you know and realize what God has put you on the earth to do it is a beautiful thing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Polished Training?
Polished is a multi-dimensional business offering catering, bartending, meal prepping, products, and training on various topics within the food and beverage industry. Our motto is to Eat. Drink. Learn. We want our following to get the full experience that the industry has to offer. Rather it’s knowing the difference between a Chardonnay and a Merlot or knowing how to make the perfect rosemary infused lamb chops. What sets us apart from the rest is that instead of trying to sell you a product or our various meal option, we want to educate you. We want you to take our recipes and our products and flourish. I’m honestly so proud of how far my company has come. I even more proud of how far it has brought me. My company is only one year old and I’m so excited to see it at 5, 10, or even 2.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Covid-19 really sent the food and beverage industry into a negative spiral. A lot of small businesses struggled and are still struggling. Even though It did a lot of damage, I believe that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. This little light allowed for innovation and creativity to come into play. Over the next 5- 10 years, I see my industry growing and involving to the world’s layout. I see new ways to enjoy the natural riches of different flavors and spices.
