Meet Midtown Makeup Artist & Model Manager: Britney Monet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Monet.

Britney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As multi-talented and business minded young lady based in Atlanta, a daughter of two retired Marines and sister of four brothers and one sister and a former Miss Georgia USA contestant, I stepped into the fashion and entertainment industry as a self-taught makeup artist and aspiring model.

Later realizing makeup was my passion and became a certified Makeup Artist at Gwyniss Mosby Makeup Academy. That passion later evolved into a Beauty and Lifestyle business that mainly focuses on her own brand of makeup for all women. I am more than a makeup artist, I am also part owner of a model and Talent company called Good Genes Managment. With both businesses, I am able to practice my craft and motivated others. I plan to be a published makeup artist (Bridal) and travel any and everywhere with my brands

Has it been a smooth road?
I can not say that everything was handed to me. I work hard to achieve my goals and everyday is a learning experience. The biggest struggle came from myself and my self-motivations. I had to get pass putting myself down and push forward.

Do you feel luck has played a role in your life?
Luck has played a key part in my career by placing me in situations to meet others and to learn from experience. I don’t rely on luck but it comes in handy.

Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
Patience, gratitude and the willingness to grow.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Likes- Endless work and opportunities for everyone. I love the culture of the city and the FOOD lol
Dislike- The disconnect in communities
