Hi Zahmere, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Zahmere Price, 20-year-old eyewear designer out of Atlanta. I am CEO, Designer & Founder of Zahmere Eyewear. The brand officially launched May of 2018 and since then we’ve been blessed to make it into 5 eye doctor offices throughout the great city of Atlanta. I have a passion for more than just fashion, I’m an entrepreneur at heart. I’ve always had my hands in a lot of things but Zahmere Eyewear was my very first legal documented business. I’m also a YouTuber, comedian, future real estate agent, model, actor and much more.

What progress have you made since our first interview? What’s new? What goals have you reached since then?
Zahmere Eyewear has made a tremendous amount of progress since the first interview. At the time I was only in one store now I’m in a total of six offices. One of the offices being corporate and the rest are independent. Zahmere Eyewear is currently on its third collection also with its first kids’ line. A fourth collection is expected to launched mid/late 2021. People love the frames they appreciate all the work that is put in. I remember I couldn’t get any sells now I’m selling to corporate offices and doing things I never thought I would. People are walking up to me I never met who know the brand and that puts a smile on my face. It lets me know all the blood, sweat and tear all paid off. Those late nights of designing, wanting to give up, feeling discouraged but still pushed through. Sometime this year Zahmere Eyewear will be transitioning to a complete brand that would design clothing for both men and women. Suits, dresses, Fragrance, bags and much more in the future.

What advice would you give someone else looking to start a business in the industry you’re in?
Designing your own eyewear line is definitely a challenge mainly because there isn’t much information on doing so. Being a designer, you want to be creative, you want to stand out, you want to be unique. You want people to know your brand so you need unique pieces. Do the research and learn what you can take care of your legal work. I had to literally dive straight in and learned as I went. I want to make things a little more simplified for future designers so I will have some material available in the future.

What keeps you motivated, how do you overcome difficulties in business overall?
I’m currently writing a book on entrepreneurship and one of the chapters talks about “Future Me”. This topic has a wide range to speak from, but since we’re talking about entrepreneurship this is how it applies. I always think about “Future Me” if you’re working for now then you’re not working for the right reasons. I’m working for 60-year-old me, I’m working for my future kids & future grandkids. I’m working for generations to come. I can’t give up because if I do then I’ve failed and everything I was supposed to get I’ve given up on it & never get it then 60-year-old me won’t thank me. Failing isn’t messing up or not getting the sells you need or even not getting the support you think you need. Failing is giving up & letting your dreams die off. Find something to keep you going it could be your kids, your current situation whatever it is find it and keep it. Let it be a reminder for when you feel like giving up. I always think about if I gave up in the beginning, I wouldn’t have gained the amount of success I have. I wouldn’t have that impact on lives as I do now. But you reap a great reward when you keep watering what you planted.
