Meet Noah Baker | Musical Artist & Content Creator

Today we’re excited to introduce you to Noah Baker. Noah is a Musical Artist, Content Creator and is also a content partner. Content partners help Voyage in so many ways from spreading the word about the work that we do, sponsoring our mission and collaborating with us on content like this. Check out our conversation with Noah below.

Hi Noah, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
Hi! My name is Noah AKA RealVenom and I’m a musical artist that specializes in the hip-hop sound. I say specializes because while many would call me a ‘rapper’ specifically, I don’t like limiting myself to just rap. I create music that touches all genres and variations of those genres, blending sounds and art from all over the world into something I can vibe to.

Outside of music I spend my time playing video games, watching anime, reading manga and learning. I spend most of my days researching random stuff on the internet and reading various books about anything. I love playing single-player RPGs that have deep customization and complex stories. And as for my anime/manga – I read and watch any and everything, but I especially love Seinen (mature and complex storylines).

I’m honestly a pretty nerdy guy, but I also enjoy playing sports and hanging out with friends. Before COVID, most of my time was spent performing shows around the ATL Metro area and creating songs with various ATL artist, now I spend most of my days pursuing Livestreaming and working more on solo musical projects!

Are there any projects you are currently working on? Both in and outside of music?
Yes! Currently working on various musical projects, ranging from a variety of different genres. “K. I. N. G.” is a Pop Punk/Emo Trap fusion project that embodies the hardships of relationships and growing up in today’s society. That album releases April 16th. I have a Vol. 2 of “K. I. N. G.” I’m working on that I’m hoping to drop late May, then I have two summer projects I’m working on as well. And as usual I have my annual Halloween project in the works, “HallowsEVE, Vol. 5: Elm Street Blues”.

Outside of music, I’m currently working on my Livestreaming career. I wanted to join the ranks of the VTuber community so I recently commissioned myself a VTuber avatar from the amazing artist @keichiizu (Follow her on Twitter). She brought my persona to life and I’m excited to start Livestreaming more regularly and creating visual content that matches with my music.

What are your top 5 favorite anime of all time?
This is a hard one cause I swear it changes almost all the time, but I can name the top 5 off the top of my head (in no specific order):

Cowboy Bebop
Hunter x Hunter
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures: Golden Wind
Code Geass/Gundam: Iron-Blood Orphans (I know this is technically cheating, but they’re both Mecha. Give me a break!)
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

What are your top 5 favorite video games of all time?
Sigh. This one is even harder than the anime! Lol.

In no specific order:

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Knights of the Old Republic
Mass Effect (Series)
Fallout: New Vegas

What is your creative process when creating your music?
Honestly, I normally don’t force myself to create music at all. I’ve learned that when placing pressure on yourself it makes the creative process excruciatingly draining, I never liked deadlines in my life, so I removed them completely when it comes to my music. When whatever I’m making is ready, that’s when it’ll be ready to share with the world.

But to answer the question: I usually can’t create until I get inspired by something. Whether that’s a personal event in my life, an emotional whim, or listening to someone else’s music even! I get inspired by a lot of different things, which means I’m always creating music one way or another lol.

Once I have the inspiration, I start searching for beats. I normally just browse YouTube and just play a bunch of random beats until I find something I like or fits the vibe I believe to be the best for the song. Then I freestyle or mumble melodies to get a feel for the song direction, then start writing lyrics! After that, it’s the usual… record, mix, master, then release!

How difficult do you think it is today to become successful in the music business?
Personally, I believe in today’s society and how people digest media arts in general, it’s hard to be successful in any artistic lane. Music especially for how over-saturated it currently is. You really have to be a unique artist and then go above and beyond to show people how unique you truly are. It’s one thing to have good music… You have to have a good brand with it and be able to get the music/brand into the ears and eyes of the people you want to make fans.

I think that’s the hardest part for me. I’m a very introverted type of person, so networking has never been my strong suit. I like letting my music speak for itself. If people find my songs and fall in love with it, then I’m happy it was because the music spoke to them in someway or some form. I find it really fake a gimmicky when people become fans of artist because of what they do outside of the music.

If you only mess with someone because of what they do on social media, then I don’t think that makes you a true fan of their music, but rather the brand/image they put on show. Almost like they’re acting in the role of a musician. True artist just create music because it’s special and important to them… If other people listen and find it to be the same, then it means our art touched someone else’s heart. That’s a good feeling to have.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years if you continue down the path you’re currently on?
Honestly speaking, I already know I have to go harder as far as marketing myself. Otherwise in the next 5 years I really might be where I am today. I’m really hoping that in the next 5 years, I’m able to live and support my loved ones completely off of my music alone. I want to be able to experience life, travel the world and not stress about making ends meet. I want my art to help people, save lives and be able to contribute positivity to the world as a whole. I want to look back on my life and tell my children… grandchildren… That I did something. I made a name for myself. I left my mark on history.

It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
If you want to show your support, please follow me on Spotify and Instagram, subscribe to my YouTube channel(s), and please share my music on everything you use! Word of mouth is key to making a no named artist a named artist. One share could change my life for the better, you have no idea. Thank you so much!
