Meet DeAndre Wynn of T.A.N. Tech Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAndre Wynn.

Hi DeAndre, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since early childhood, I knew I wasn’t made to sit still and wait for someone to open doors for me. At the age of 13 (when my mom moved us to Georgia), when my mother took me lawnmower shopping, I turned her investment into a business during our walkthrough Home Depot. At 15 years old, I returned to my hometown (Detroit, Michigan) to face life as a man. Some say it was a bad decision to leave home so early. I would say it was the best move I ever made. After graduating High school, I attempted college for one year at Eastern Michigan University. Although the experience was fun, I soon realized, the vision I had for myself did not include school. I liked to see the results of my labor faster and be in more control of the size of the reward. With that said, I took a job working as a technician for AT&T at 18 years old. This is where I found my “talent in tech”.

During my ten years as an AT&T employee, I never stopped opening doors for myself. I maintained not only my daily work schedule, but I purchased five homes, made several investments and even had a short-lived music career. As time progressed, I began feeling like my head was hitting the ceiling and it was time to let go. So September 1st of 2009, I started Twice As Nice Tech Solutions. With the birth of my vision actually becoming a reality, I knew I had to completely let go of AT&T to truly pursue it. So January 29th, 2010, I resigned from AT&T and let the wind carry me to today.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Well, I wouldn’t say it was a smooth process at all. I mean, leaving the house on your own with your mom in a different state alone was “rough”. But one of my first REAL challenges was finding out I fathered two children that weren’t mine. So another reason I left college was because the woman I was dating at the time got pregnant and told me I would soon be the father of a set of twins. Two years into working for AT&T, I found out they weren’t mine. Having to handle that trauma, still maintain life, and still pursue my dream was an unbelievable struggle most would say was impossible. However, remembering what my mother had instilled in me, I’m here today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
