Daily Inspiration: Meet Tyra Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyra Mitchell.

Hi Tyra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started with a vision. At the age of 13, I was in eighth grade when we were asked to write a poem for our graduation. I submitted my poem titled It’s Time To Spread Your Wings and Fly! To my surprise, my poem was chosen to be read for our eighth-grade graduation. It was then that I knew I had the ability to write. I knew then that I would be an author. Not knowing that God had given me a gift to be a Prophetic Scribe.

Over the years, I began writing collectively. Until one day in 2017, I decided to publish my first book, Holiness for the Soul. Which is available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble online. I then decided to launch Tyra Mitchell Books.

In 2019 I discovered that I had the ability to make handmade jewelry. It all started with me walking in the arts and craft section on the Walmart aisle. I remember been so overwhelmed with so many ideas for a business. I thought about how much fun it would be to make my own handmade jewelry. So after work I would come home and have fun making earrings, bracelets and even coming up with my t-shirt slogans.

In 2020 of the summer I decided to launch my online business called TYRAS CLASSTIQUE LLC.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been easy trying to run a business. One of the challenges I have faced is targeting the right audience for my product. Also, having a regular job and trying to make time for your business to operate can be challenging. In order for it to thrive, you have to be hands-on as much as possible. Another challenge is that a lot of people are not willing to invest in your products while others are looking for giveaways. My business is still in the beginning stages and has not as successful as I would like. Through it all, I remain encouraged.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Currently, I’m working as a Registered Medical Assistant. I have enjoyed being a front-line health care worker in the midst of the pandemic. What makes me most proud of this job is that I am able to assist others and make sure they are healthy. It took me 13 years to finally land this job in my career field. What sets me apart from others is that I have so many different gifts. Not only am I an RMA, a business owner, author, Prophetic Scribe and Prophetess.

What’s next?
My future plans include expanding TYRA CLASSTIQUE LLC. Eventually, it becoming a household name. Not just selling handmade jewelry and t-shirts but makeup line and clothing line as well. As for TYRA MITCHELL BOOKS, I looked forward to writing more books and becoming a best-selling author. Also, I looked forward to having a Women Ministries.
