Inspiring Conversations with Celest Davis of The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celest Davis.

Hi Celest, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey as an entrepreneur started three years ago. I have been in the medical field for 17 years, and I really did not see myself retiring from a company or organization without being able to leave my kids a legacy. I started out as a credit repair specialist agent for Financial Educational Services. I needed to work on my credit as well. I found it kind of frustrating because for an adult to want help, their mindset has to be right and focused. I stayed with the company for one year.

January 1, 2020, I joined Total Life Changes. I’ve been praying about what I should do next, and I needed to lose weight. After reading so many stories and testimonies on Instagram, I said this is where I should be. For the whole year of 2020, I was on a weight loss journey and introduced the products to other people.

My starting weight was 220, and in August of 2020, I was down to 190 pounds! It was hard because the pandemic started, and I have kids that we’re homeschooling. I really had a plate full. Being with Total Life Changes, you have to spend a lot of money for products to sell. I knew that this was not something I wanted to do for a long period of time, I’m still thinking of having my own business. I said, what else can I do to help people with their weight loss journey and I thought of body sculpting. I visited a spa that offered body sculpting had one service done and I liked it.

November of 2020, I got my LLC for my business, The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning, before I was certified as a body sculptor. I also took a lip enhancement course to add to my business. I was serious about having my own business.

When the new year came in 2021, I started promoting my business on Instagram, which is hard for people can be so cruel. But with faith and determination, I have been busy from February 2021 up until June 2021. June has been a slow month for me, but I try my best to stay encouraged and keep going. It’s hard when you do not have physical help and just trying to figure everything out by yourself.

I started working out of my home for the first two months. Then I moved to my own office space that I love. I’m enjoying this journey. There is still a lot of information I’m learning, but I have to take it one day at a time and keep pushing. One thing I have learned is when you are doing what’s best for people, you get scared and vanish.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth ride. I do not have support from people I thought would have my back. I actually stop talking to a lot of people because of the non-support. Starting a business during the pandemic maybe or maybe was not a good idea because I was not able to get help with funding my business. I purchased all my equipment which is not a problem because it’s my business. Marketing is the hardest when you do not have the funds to pay for it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning?
The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning offers weight loss options that assist women on their journey. I prefer to only work with women because I can relate to them better, and I feel comfortable. The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning offers non-invasive procedures such as butt enhancements, cavitation and skin tightening treatments.

The Hyaluron Pen is a needleless device that enhances your lips and face without any downtime. This procedure takes 30 mins and I suggest to my clients that the more Hyaluronic Acid they have in their lips, the longer the results will last. It brings tears to my eyes after I’m done with a session because the results are everything. I’ve had the chance to make a difference in people’s lives that I met for the first time. When you come to The Body Lab Sculpt & Tanning, you will feel welcome, comfortable and leave feeling like a new person.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by the goals I set for myself. Success is knowing you have been through things that only you know about and made it through. If you can make it through anything without breaking, you can do anything. Success is able to not worry about if I go on a vacation, will I have money to pay rent.
