Meet Jennifer Ammons of The Big Fake Wedding in Norcross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Ammons.

Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
About 9 years ago, our company was started by our Founder, Callie Murray who was a photographer looking to market her business. She came up with a fake wedding where brides and grooms to be could attend to see local vendors in action! It turned out to be a fun night and her vendor friends kept begging for more and then eventually begged for it to expand outside of Atlanta. In January of this year, Jennifer Ammons bought the business from her dear friend, Callie and continues to grow and expand The Big Fake Wedding’s reach and mission to Support Local business, Champion committed marriages and inspire brides.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road when starting and expanding a business, haha! Because we are based in Atlanta, it is always a new challenge when we expand to a new city, each event has it’s set of “fires” and we are constantly having to shift in order to continue adding value to vendors and engaged couples. I believe these are all good tensions though and it’s fun to see how our team overcomes these struggles on a daily basis.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Big Fake Wedding – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
At the end of the day, we are a marketing company for the local wedding industries across the country. We provide opportunities and create environments that help small business network, succeed and be known and grow. We love watching our “friendors” hit their stride. Not only that, we love that our event is like none other. It’s not a huge bridal expo to get lost in, it’s a very intimate night that reminds attendees they should be putting just as much thought into planning their marriage as they are planning their wedding. That’s why we have a vow renewal from a real married couple at every event. It sets us apart and we love the real tears at each one!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We LOVE the community and diversity of Atlanta, it’s why we call it home in so many ways. Our community feels like they are always cheering each other on and collaborating instead of competing and we love that.
