Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Jackson.
Hi Johnny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with cooking as a little boy, and I come from a cooking family. I grew up watching my grandmother Margaret Humphrey, my aunt Claretha Humphrey and my mother Lois Overstreet cook for our family. Seeing the joy on the faces of my family, I knew I wanted to be a chef and give people the same joy from my food. Around the age of eight, I started to cook, and each year my cooking skills improved. As a teenager and college student, I was cooking for friends and family. Fast forward 15 years and I decided to really pursue my passion for cooking. Over the last few years, my catering, private chef experience and meal prep business have started to grow exponentially. I am happy to say business is going great.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been pretty smooth for me. I studied and watched others encounter various problems and mistakes. Each problem and mistake I saw, I found a solution to it. By having answers to many of the problems and mistakes, I have been able to have a smooth experience.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a caterer, private and traveling chef. I specialize in seafood and southern cuisine. I am known for my amazing seafood dishes, delicious lamb chops, and my southern foods.
I am most proud of my two kids Madison and Landon, enjoying this journey with me. I am also proud of the joy and special memories my clients have been able to create with family and friends through my private chef experience. What sets me apart from others is I truly love what I do, and cooking is God’s gift to me. I put my heart and soul into each and every dish consistently. Each client is the most important person in the world to me when I am cooking for them. I want them to taste the love in each bite they take.
What matters most to you?
God, family and my clients matter the most to me. God matters because he blessed me with this skill. My family matters because of the unconditional love and support they give me on a daily basis. My clients matter because they trust me to create and give them an experience that will last a lifetime.
