Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Taylor

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Writing has always been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I would write short stories about my friends, my walks from home to school to the family gatherings. The writing was enjoyable to me but evident to those who read my stories that I had talent and that I was great at storytelling. Today, writing has continued to be a passion. I absolutely enjoy writing for the entertainment of others and providing my audience with unpredictable captivating stories. I would say that I have gotten to where I am today and the most important factor behind my success as an author is that I stay true to my style of writing. I spend time each day writing and creating stories to bring to my audience. Writing gives me energy and it brings me peace. Once I have complete one story, I’m on to the next which is why I was able to finish, At What Cost, the third book in a trilogy that I have written in a short time. It brings me joy when my fans bring in new fans and are constantly wanting more great unpredictable captivating stories.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can’t say that it has been a smooth or difficult road but a road worth traveling to reach my fans. I’m most proud of the fact that I’m gifted to bring my stories from my imagination to paper. There’s no better feeling when your fans not only express their enjoyment and excitement over your work but wants more. It can be challenging to reach fans outside of your family, friends, and social media circle but I’ve been able to extend beyond that with A trilogy that I have written. The trilogy, Missing Picture, One Who is Loved, and At What Cost is a thriller filled with mystery, suspense, and a touch of romance. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known for being a great storyteller. My style of writing is unlike any other author. My characters are rich, spark emotion, are unpredictable, and keeps my readers engaged and wanting more. The one sentence that is often echoed among my readers is, “I love your stories, I want more, I love your style of writing”. Sticking to who I am as a writer is definitely the success factor behind my style of writing and sets me apart from others.

I am most proud of the trilogy ( Missing Picture, One Who is Loved and At What Cost) that I have written. The first book, Missing Picture is where it all begins. You will meet characters in the second book, One Who is Loved as you’ve never met before. Priyanka, one of the main characters is captivating, mysterious, and dangerous. At What Cost, the third book in the trilogy pulls it all together and takes you where you never expected.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Entertainment! Fashion! Food! I love the city of Atlanta because there is so much to do and so many different people. If you love theater or concerts, then there’s the Fox Theater located in the heart of the city. There are beautiful parks such as Piedmont where you can relax, walk, run, attend vendor events where you can see the works of other creatives throughout the city and there are a variety of great restaurants with amazing food throughout the city.

I would say what I like least about the city is the traffic which I’m sure is the same in other major cities.
