Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Harris-Forrest.
Hi Erika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well, I wear many hats. I am the CEO of Comm-Nex, a subsidiary of Titanium 3 Solutions Managed Services. I am Home-School mother of 8 children (5B & 3G), but my greatest strength is my ability to pay attention to details. It was this strength that found, while reading my husband’s papers from his then employer, that businesses were paying far more for the services than what they were getting. I noticed that most Managed Service Providers were sales companies as opposed to maintaining the environments and networks that they were commissioned to protect. So we formed the initial family business of IT Done Rite to provide the services that I saw was missing and we have evolved from there to what we are today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The laughter this question ensued. But to answer your question, NO! Providing the services for our customers was somewhat simple as we have done it for years, but understanding each customer’s environment and the tools that are required to maintain their businesses at a cost that does not impact the customer’s overhead, was really the struggle. We knew we wanted our customers to have the best service, but we also valued what was being spent to achieve this goal. It is now, some 5 years later and we have gone through enough changes to get to the point where we know our product, what it offers, and the benefits of joining our family. Plus it is always hard to be a trailblazer. There isn’t another Voice and Managed Service Provider out that is as proficient, knowledgable, and cost-effective as we are.
As you know, we’re big fans of Titanium 3 Solutions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I like to say that we are the company that you don’t know you need until you need it. IT is almost always overlooked until it becomes a problem. TI3 began as a Managed Service Provider that proactively managed networks by finding small problems before they become huge calamities. We noticed a pattern of high-cost phone systems with minimal features. We researched various technologies to find a way to reduce the overall fees customer were paying while providing the features thier businesses needed. What makes you happy?
That’s an easy one. My family. They are my biggest accomplishment. Being a mother of 8 while finishing my BA and Master’s and running a business and homeschooling is tough some days. But, getting the chance to spend time with them, watch them grow and learn and change has been a gift that I have cherished from the moment my eldest child took his first breath. This is why we look at Ti3 customers as family members. Family is everything to us. We love to see our customers grow and change, and we seek to be with them every step of the way.
Food and travel are a close second. I love to travel to different places and try the local foods. Plus homeschooling allows us to take our children with us without them missing any school.
