Meet Tonya Robinson of God’s Total Wellness in Sandy Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonya Robinson.

Tonya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child my mother was diagnosed with diabetes. I watched how it altered her life and at the point she began to teach me healthy living. Through the years, I incorporated my Christian experience and my education to create God’s Total Wellness.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. My struggle has been on getting the word out about God’s Total Wellness and part of that is money to do that.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
God’s Total Wellness is a health and wellness ministry. I host health workshops which clients are taught how to have a healthy lifestyle. The foundation of the workshops are lean, educate, attitude, nutrition. I also speak at different events on topics of health and some on spiritual matters. I am most proud that GTW foundation is based on Biblical standards and that’s what sets it apart from others.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was very shy and only wanted to do just enough to make it. I was the last child of six siblings. Those siblings and parents did more for me than they should have setting the foundation of doing just enough. For example, when it came to school I only did enough to make passing grades and when I was uncomfortable to go passed that I didn’t push myself. This attitude overflowed into other parts of my life. I am proud to say I no longer think this way and I push myself and I’m enjoying the journey. I grew up interested in nutrition and exercise. I enjoyed running, softball and cycling.
