Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Heard.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am originally from Nettleton, Ms a small town outside Tupelo Ms. After graduating high school in 1991; I entered a local beauty school called Creation College of Cosmetology. I received my cosmetology license from there in 1992. I was blessed enough to open my first salon that same year. I was inspired to move to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000. I immediately went to work on building my client base; I have been a salon owner now for 30 years. I service hair for the entire family and specialize in healthy hair care, cuts and color. These are my favorite things to do in the salon. I love what I do; it gives me such joy because I get to making men, women, and children of all races look and feel their very best.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This journey for me has been incredible! Fortunately, I have been able to keep the doors open, working on the same street, with the exception of one year, for 17 years now. I have had some struggles, leading to downsizing my business before with the economic disruption. On occasion, I have lost clients before, but I always continued to have patience and work diligently to rebuild every time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed professional cosmetologist. For the past 30 years, I have rendered my services to making people look and feel their best by cutting and styling their hair. I specialize in healthy hair care for the entire family. Treatment of the scalp and conditioning the hair, adding a luster or shine, cuts, and color that transforms the hair. I am set apart because I always have and will continue to care about the integrity of the hair.
How do you think about luck?
I am a person that does not believe in luck! I know that God has always been here for me, showing me his favor and grace through the good and the bad times.
