Inspiring Conversations with Chatejah George of C&C Movie Film Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chatejah George.

Hi Chatejah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a filmmaker and could not find an affordable place to film. I opened a film studio to provide opportunity for independent filmmakers. I started with a 3,000 sq ft building and recently expanded to a 20,000 sq ft building. I posted a video on social media and it went viral. Outlets and celebrities started reaching out such as: CBS 46, Rick Ross, Complex, & more. I saw a need and decided to create what I thought the industry was lacking.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I faced a lot of obstacles along the way. My mom went into the hospital… I had little to no help at the studio. I lost all my friends. It took me months to get the studio renovated after the studio flooded. I caught COVID… but I didn’t let anything stop me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
C&C Movie Film Studios is a 20,000 sq ft standing set studio. We offer sets such as: classroom, hospital, jail, office, police precinct, cyc wall, trap house, barbershop, restaurant & more. We also build custom sets. C&C movie film studios is the only studio that provides standing sets. I am most proud of providing a space for independent filmmakers to create. Not only are we a studio for filmmakers, but we also cater to photography, videography, content creators, event planning, educational classes & more.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I met the Mayor of Morrow and have a lot of support with the city and county. I do think the city should provide more housing in the area.
