Today we’d like to introduce you to Vania Bredy.
Hi Vania, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always wanted to be in the field of healthcare since I can remember. Early on, I wanted to be a physical therapist and this is what I pursued during my undergrad at Florida A&M University. This didn’t quite materialize and I learned about the field of Health Information Management. I entered the workforce and became credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator. Since 2002, I’ve worked in multiple healthcare settings throughout the east coast. My experience enabled me to elevate to corporate roles in healthcare administration. Throughout the years, I developed a passion for business, so I opened Symonette Concierge and Export Services, LLC. This business was unique and allowed me to facilitate shopping and freight-forwarding services to clients overseas. My passion, however, remained in healthcare and I wanted to combine my health care experience with business administration.
In March of 2016, my husband and I opened Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, LLC. The dream to become a physical therapist materialized into co-owning a physical therapy practice with my husband who is a licensed physical therapist. As COO of Bredy Physical Therapist and Sports Rehab, LLC, I oversee operations, marketing, and financial management. My commitment to both businesses is endless. My passion to lead and educate is satisfied through ownership. Community sits at the forefront of what I do and is incorporated into each business model. As a healthcare expert and leader, my experience has led me to be impactful, resourceful and committed to the community I serve.
Most importantly, my mother has always been my light, my inspiration and the fire behind my drive. She molded me into who I am by setting an example that I would never fall short on following. Although she is no longer here to witness where I am right now, all that I am is because of her.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With life, nothing worth valuing comes to you on a well-prepared platter. Yes, there have been bumps along the way. But those obstacles were revered as opportunities to further develop myself, gain more knowledge and create access to territories I needed to step in to facilitate not repeating past errors and furthering my growth as a business leader. Through the pandemic, we relocated our family and business from South Florida to the Charlotte area. It has been quite the journey adapting and settling in a new territory. Utilizing what I have learned in the past and applying it to this current setting has been rewarding because it’s opened many doors to lay a solid foundation….all that’s left to do is work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, LLC has a mission to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function and regain a better quality of life. We are centrally located in Matthews, NC, and serve patients in Charlotte, Lake Park, Indian Trail, and Stallings, NC. Our practice specializes in geriatric rehabilitation and senior wellness, pain management, joint replacement, balance and stability, gait training, neurological therapy, orthopedic therapy, pediatric therapy, and wellness education.
As important as it is for us to make health and wellness a priority for patients, it is equally important to also provide education and informed guidance, along with a stellar standard of care. Whether a primary or supplementary source of care, therapy sessions are aimed to leave the patient not only feeling better physically but also more informed about the scope and benefits of physical therapy.
At Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, we thrive on ensuring that you experience a one-on-one, uniquely-crafted treatment plan specific to your rehabilitative needs.
We want every patient who needs therapy can receive the help they need, so we are providing teletherapy services! Since teletherapy has become an integral part of treatment, we became licensed in South Carolina, Florida, and North Carolina. We can serve you both in-state and out!
The practice is also heavily involved in providing free wellness services to members of the community. We participate in health fairs 5K events and offer free back screenings/assessments to those who attend these events.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the diversity that Charlotte and the surrounding areas bring. We have been able to serve patients in a diversified population. The only indifference we see here is the fact that everywhere you go takes at least 30 minutes. Being that we serve patients that are typically in some sort of pain or discomfort, traveling long distances can be a disadvantage before or after a therapy session.
