Exploring Life & Business with Kode Knox of Zen Up Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kode Knox.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am Kode(koh-dee) Knox. Kode means Legend and Knox is short for Equinox which represents balance. I acquired that name as a rap name and I came to the realization that it was deeper than I thought. I’m an Intuitive Counselor and I provide Life Coaching and Counseling services for those in search of their Higher Selves. Your Higher Self is your true self and its pure awareness of mind, body and soul. In order to reach that freedom, we have to do our Shadow Work. Shadow work unpacks are darker parts to ourselves that we don’t heal from or acknowledge. I’ve been in Education for over 20 years as a Dean of Students and Educator. I’ve also been a social worker for over ten years and I’m certified Transformational Coach, Yoga Instructor, Reiki and Herbalist. I’ve combined my personal experiences with healing and my professional experiences to provide a customized program for clients. I’m on a healing journey with my clients no matter my knowledge or experience.

I was once very depressed and full of anxiety. So much so that I had a stint with drugs and became a heavy drinker at the age of 14 years old. My mother was an alcoholic and she would wake me up late at night and dump her issues and problems on me when I was five years old. And I’m totally understanding of my mother now and I believe my counseling career began there! I drank for 27 years and I’m four years sober and will never drink again. I’m focused on myself, my family and business. I enjoy my purpose because I’m still fulfilling my passion with music and endeavors.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wear many hats. I’m a one man show and it becomes challenging and I love it! It’s all about balance for me and I make sure I organize my day and week to meet my goals. I feel no pressure and I understand I am helping people and I have a message to deliver. The same yoga, breathing techniques, exercises and rituals that I suggest to clients, I use myself on a daily basis. I am not exempt from healing.

As you know, we’re big fans of Zen Up Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I am Author of my self-published memoir book “Complexion Confessions.” “Complexion Confessions” is about my traumatic and learning experiences in this plane of existence. It is also a relatable, humorous and emotional roller coaster ride of my life from birth to my Ascension in 2020. It’s stories of my worst self and I couldn’t have gotten to my Higher Self without going through those struggles and I am thankful for all that has happened. I even thought I was safe when I Ascended Spiritually and Consciously. I was incorrect because Healing is Everyday! A lot of magical things have occurred to me and have come into fruition in my life such as my connection to nature and the cosmic realms. I have it all documented as well. I love to learn about the Quantum and Astro world, Spirituality, Metaphysics and Occult science. I have Knowledge of Self, Wisdom and Understanding. I know who I am and why I am here on Earth. I research online but I also look within to find the answers and then apply it to my practice.

That is why I specialize in guiding individuals to their Higher Self by unpacking layers of their shadow self. I have combined over 20 years of experience in social work and in education to form a comprehensive solution-based guide to obtain the Higher Self. This customized program is for people to recognize the characteristics and attributes that constitute the lower self and use these tools that I have crafted to cultivate their Higher Self.

I am an Artist and I have been releasing inspirational and reflective rap music since April 17, 2021. My music is honest, open and will have you exploring yourself on another level. I have released “Higher Self vs Lower Self: The FixTape,” and that’s about the challenges of the ego and I had to look inside myself in order to ascend to my Higher Self. And four singles such as “You Ain’t Call ” and that’s about my ego calling my Higher elf out for going for the nonsense and “DisRuption” which is a fun, energetic song and it’s an affirmation song. I have over 1 million streams and have distribution with Empire/Zen Up Wellness. My music is streaming on all Digital Platforms! I have been rapping since 1991 and it’s my outlet to create and I used it as therapy to heal myself. I am so different from other rappers, I don’t even like to refer to myself as a rapper. I am sending a message to you and I am talking to myself at the same time. I have released music in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 and this is my return and it’s my passion! I do have over one million streams of music across several digital platforms. I’m constantly releasing inspirational music and to manifest true prosperity. I’ve been rapping since 1991 and it’s really therapeutic for me. I consider myself an artist not a rapper. I’m going to release a wide variety of music because I’m that tapped to my creativity.

I am an Inspirational Speaker and I take the audience to a state of Awareness through education, experience and entertainment. It’s a presentation about my life and understanding ourselves on a human and spiritual level. The speech is filled with emotions and my animated storytelling and you realize you had the same struggles. It’s an interactive performing arts showcase and I display my rapping abilities to motivate the audience. I also incorporated yoga and breathing techniques in the experience.

People may get confused and think that I am doing too much and that’s ok. That’s what makes me different! It is all connected. I am displaying bravery by displaying my experience and having fun while I am doing it! It’s all connected. Although people may appreciate just one aspect of what I offer, I’m multidimensional and I refuse to limit myself because someone else limits themselves. This is my calling and I am loving every moment, even the losses!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the industry being wide open. I am in my own lane. I am in no competition with anyone. I am here to do something no one has ever done and that’s combining all of my talents, skill and will and enlightening people to become their Higher Selves. I am the change because it starts with me first. I am promoting healing and getting to your Higher Self. I am an Entity. I am going to travel the world with this movement of this new era, The Golden Era. I want to lead myself and help people lead themselves. My counseling services are growing as well as my Inspiration Speaking engagements. This is an Experience when you rock with Kode Knox!
