Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitfield Gray.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Whitfield. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Atlanta, and my entire family lives in Atlanta and surrounding cities. I remember when I was younger we would always go to my grandparent’s home and they would discuss businesses they owned. One of the businesses that they owned were Dry cleaners in downtown Atlanta. I was always fascinated with that industry of Textiles. After my military life, my wife and I came back to Atlanta, I delved into several different businesses while also being employed with the CDC as an Accountant. In 2013, my wife had a stroke and immediately afterwards the Government Shutdown. When this happened it really gave me the time that I needed to work on opening a laundromat of my own to help supplement my income. I took the opportunity and a few days in I could see that my dream was going to come true. In 2013, I opened the 1st Laundromat in Marietta, and in 2016 we opened our 2nd laundromat in Marietta also. I am now currently working my laundry full-time and loving that my dream came true to own my own business.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have learned that the Entrepreneur Road is like getting on a rollercoaster. There are a lot of Ups and Downs. There are a lot of Disappointments. There is a lot of Risk involved, but if it performs right it can be the best accomplishment just like a rollercoaster.
But the real question is, do you want to get on the Rollercoaster?
So, as you know, we’re impressed with AnyTime Laundry – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company started in 2013 and we operate as a Community Laundry Center. We are mostly known for operating our laundries 24 hours a day.
The best thing about my business is the Pickup and Delivery Service. If they are within 10 miles of the laundry, we will pick up, and deliver their laundry to their home, Job, AirBnB. This is very handy for those people that can coordinate us with the time their Housekeeper will arrive so that the Linen is cleaned properly. It is also a Great service for busy professionals or those who really don’t like doing Laundry Chores every week.
I am mostly proud that our company has been certified as HUBZone Company by the SBA and Certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business by the VA. The main purpose of both of these Certifications is to help bring Jobs to the City of Marietta.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
As an Avid Sports fan, it has been refreshing to see the Sports team culture boom in the Atlanta Metro area. There are numerous activities to attend in the area whether you are interested in Football or Soccer at The Benz or Baseball at Suntrust Park, there are so many options to keep you busy any day of the week.
