Life & Work with Ebony and Denise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony and Denise.

Hi Ebony and Denise, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are Ebony & Denise, better known as Team2Moms. Denise and I have been together for 16 years and married for ten years. We have three beautiful children, Olivia (10), Jayden (5), and Lucas (5).

In 2012, we started making videos online about being a two-mom family. When we uploaded our first video, we had received so many questions about how two women can have children. At the time, there was not much representation about families like ours online or even in mainstream media.

It was at this moment where we decided to be an example of LGBTQ+ parenting and to this day, it has been our main mission.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Relatively speaking, it has been a smooth road but when you share your life online, it does come with criticism and negative comments. Over the years, we have developed a sense of “thick skin” and use this as a catalyst to continue making content online.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are best known for creating videos about being a multicultural two-mom family with a mission to “normalize” LGBTQ+ parenting. We are most proud of the community we built online for people in the LGBTQ+ space looking for inspiration on how to live a successful life.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
One of the most important lessons we’ve learned, which may sound cliche but is SO true, is to not take advantage of TIME. As much time as we spend on working and the hustle of everyday life, we NEED to spend more loving times with our family & friends.
