Meet LaShawn Butler of LB Beauty Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShawn Butler.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first contact with the beauty industry was in 2014. I was in school to become a licensed nail tech. After I graduated as a licensed nail tech my instructor Mrs.Stacie encouraged me to come back to school to study esthetics. While working at my day job I enrolled myself as a night student at Elaine Sterling Institute. I decided to go back to school to become a Licensed Esthetician. I was doing makeup, lashes and nails, so I decided to get educated and more knowledgeable about the skin because it is the largest organ of the body. And I love making people feel good inside and outside. I committed myself to my purpose and after I graduated and pass my state board testing there, I decided to open my business LB Beauty Bar in Midtown Atlanta, GA. I have been in business for three years. I have grown a successful beauty business where I get to see women transform and living looking amazing and feeling wonderful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth but it hasn’t been bad either. I would say one of my most challenging struggles has to be when the Covid19 happen and we had to stay home and then balancing home lifestyle and a day job. Some obstacles were mostly financial. But I trust in God and he made a way for my business to keep up during those hard times. Learning how to run a full business was challenging, so once I figure out how to balance my business and day job, it became less stressful, so now I just need to keep working hard and managing with oriented strategies with a great attitude.

You have to stay on top of new products, machines and services to make sure that you are always providing your clients with the best options for their skincare and body needs.

LB Beauty Bar has grown so much in over 3 years. I’m so excited to see my business will grow and expand.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Yes, my mentor is Ms. Stacie my nail tech instructor and God has blessed me with my supporting husband, kids and family. Especially, my husband for pushing me and motivating me when I want to give it all up. I want to thank my Esthetician classmates (Estie sisters) because you all know we had each other’s back and we have learned and grown alot with each other.
