Rising Stars: Meet Neekee Fort

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neekee Fort.

Hi Neekee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started creating videos on Tiktok in 2020 during the Pandemic. I just started a Tiktok because I was bored and wanted to try something new. I knew I couldn’t dance lol so that was out of the question but I just started doing reaction videos on there and it started off as just fun. My TikTok started growing fast and that’s when I started to take it seriously because my husband told me that I could actually get paid for doing those videos. I started off with reaction videos but later on last year I decided to try comedy skits and I got my husband to do one with me and the first video we did together got 1 million views. I had never had a viral video and it was amazing because I wasn’t going to post it at first, but I’m glad I did. After that we continued to do comedy skits and they kept on going viral and then I decided to start back posting on Facebook and I started growing my audience there as well. It has been amazing because I have met so many people because of this. My goal is for everyone that sees my content to laugh or be motivated.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not easy. I am a perfectionist and I critique my work so much. The viral videos are only a few seconds long but it took us like an hour to shoot the first video because I had to come up with the script then we had to rehearse it and we had to play the part a certain way. Not to mention the time that it takes to edit the videos. There have been many late nights and early mornings that I’ve been up sharing my content on different platforms just to get my name out there. I have a daughter and I’m a wife so I always try to make time for my family before the videos. I also have to deal with hateful comments but I don’t let that bother me too much. Despite the bumpy road I’m proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a content creator. I create videos on social media. My niche is food and family. I’m proud of the positive impact that I’m making. I have a purpose for my videos, I don’t just do it for fun. My purpose is to show others that they can express their creativity just like me through video and that social media is not all bad, you just have to have balance.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am a lefty. They say that lefties are very creative and I believe that is true.
