Meet Linda Sayseng of Sayseng Media in South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Sayseng.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started by accident. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a film director. So, I pursued my dreams by entering into college at Clayton State University. I started learning so many trades in digital imaging that I was just looking for opportunities to build or create content. I was hired by the director of the Office of Career Services, Bridgette McDonald, to take head shot photographs at the largest graduate and student job fair. While I was taking the head shots, which the idea is for the job seeker to have it for their LinkedIn profile picture, a coordinator from the marketing office said they were looking for a digital media student assistant. From there, I soared, learning and strengthening my skills in photography and videography. I started meeting people and companies who needed content from their events as well. I’ve had so many friends and family from my church support me. I have a solid team by my side and because of that Sayseng Media has grown. Sayseng Media focuses on content and production project management.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not a smooth road at all. I learned a lot from many mistakes. Sometimes, you can commit to a project and sometimes you should just say “no.” I believe my struggles were just character building for a business and to understand that you have to be confident and genuine with the client.

Please tell us about Sayseng Media.
My company creates photography and video content. I, Linda Sayseng, am known for my photography. I mainly do event and journalistic photography. When doing video, I enjoy building the team to create the content. Each project is specific even to the crew members. They have to believe in the product or project.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have paced myself and not try to do every project and every task on my own. Building a team takes time, you must first master the craft as one person (haha!) and that, takes patience and self-awareness.
