Hi Abioduni, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was lucky to get into the signage industry. The signage industry is not the typical industry you want to be a part of when people asked you when you were a kid; what do you want to be when you grow up? A sign guy didn’t come to mind. Most people I’ve encountered in this industry come from legacy, they are 2nd and 3rd generation sign and wrap shop owners. You have two options in getting into this industry: you become a legacy or are introduced into it. I was introduced ten years ago, and it improved my life. My company DEW does everything from design, print, and installation. We install channel, letters, and fleet graphics on vehicles and commercial tents on storefronts. The most interesting part of my business and the joy I get out of working in this field is the clients. I solve so many of their problems when it comes to marketing their projects from a physical standpoint. At DEW, we can assure the consumer that they are in good hands, and we will do everything for them to make the process as seamless as possible. I believe what sets DEW apart from my competitors is that we are transparent about the process and how we charge the consumer, are educators, and provide top-notch service.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The thing that I am most proud of is how much I’ve grown in the signage industry; ten years is a long time I’ve made some mistakes and I learned from them. I’ve been through hardships, and I grew from them. I continue to challenge my crew and steer the company’s vision forward. Our mission is to educate the consumer on all things about the signage industry so they are better informed about products and services to make better choices.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
D&E Wraps is a vinyl and wallpaper installation company located in Douglasville, Georgia. We specialize in the application and installation of vinyl materials and wallpaper for our customers. We also work with printing companies and businesses that require the installation of vinyl materials for their clients. We are experienced in the many applications of vinyl such as fleet vehicle wrapping, architectural wraps, bordering, mural wrapping, storefront, and custom color change wrapping. You name it, our motto is, “If it sticks, we can wrap it.”
What sets my company apart from other companies in my industry is I make sure my clients are pleased no matter what within reason my clients are always satisfied. I’m most proud that I have achieved working for myself; it has been my biggest challenge to date and my proudest moment. I’ve learned that you cannot always plan for the unforeseen, sometimes you have to roll with the punches. Getting to where I am today was not and still isn’t easy; it takes persistence to continue on, the days you don’t want to do something is the days that count the most. I want the world to recognize that I came from struggle, and I turned that into something positive, I want the world to know that no matter what you decide to do with your life, you can always do better. I want the world to know my brand will be the face of my industry in the next 10 years.
What makes you happy?
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and spending time outdoors. This is the most peaceful time I have away from the hustle and bustle of running my own business.
