Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Miehl.

Lauren, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career as a Labor & Delivery Nurse for five years, then I started to look for something new. I’ve always loved everything beauty, especially being creative with makeup. As an acne sufferer, I learned that your makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath. I started learning a little about skincare through blogs and articles, and I became obsessed. I also love the feeling of empowering people, especially women, to be the best versions of themselves.

I started in the aesthetics industry as an Aesthetician and RN at Tailor Made Looks Institute of Plastic Surgery & MedSpa. I learned so much about medical aesthetic treatments and injectables, networked with inspiring providers, and grew my knowledge with continuing education.

After a year of growing, I was offered an amazing opportunity to be a founding provider at Modern Looks Med Spa in Sandy Springs. I’m so grateful to be a part of an outstanding team that not only focuses on exceptional client experience but also feels like family!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A struggle, but a blessing, was the timing of when I decided to go to aesthetician school. I started January 2020, and we all know what happened then. Covid not only prolonged my graduation date but it also made it difficult to perform services on each other during the pandemic. We would sometimes go a couple of weeks without being in person so it was hard to retain our newly-developed skills.

The silver lining is that with all of this extra time, I was able to focus on building a social media account and to sign up for any webinar I could as a student to absorb as much information about aesthetics as possible. This allowed me time to make professional connections, learn from leaders in the industry, and build a small following. I truly believe this is what prepared me the most for my first job after school, and for that I am thankful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an Aesthetician and RN, I provide aesthetic treatments including HydraFacials, RF Microneedling, chemical peels, Botox, and skincare consultations. I have a passion for cultivating customized, results-driven treatment plans for my clients so that they can feel comfortable and confident in their own skin! I pride myself on constantly researching new techniques and technologies to give my clients the best and most natural results.

I am extremely proud of myself and my team for winning Best Med Spa by My Sandy Springs Best of 2022! As a brand new Med Spa, we love connecting to the community, hosting events, and most importantly, building trusting relationships with our clients.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The drive to never stop learning plays a big role in my success as a skincare provider. The aesthetics industry is constantly changing with new technology and concepts evolving all the time. I have to keep up with these changes to not only give my clients the best results possible but to remain relevant. My clients are more savvy than ever with skincare and treatment advice at their fingertips, whether that advice is correct or not!

Attending aesthetic conferences, listening to podcasts, watching webinars, and building relationships with other providers, educators, and reps are just some of the tools I use to grow as a skincare professional. The aesthetics world is smaller than one may think, so it is important to network with industry leaders. We can all learn from each other. Also, be kind to everyone!
