Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenya Elliott.

Hi Kenya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m the owner of Bodied by K, LLC and also the mother to four amazing beautiful children ages 18-10, I’m also recently engaged to my best friend and the love of my life. My background is in Nursing, in which I’m still a travel nurse that does occasional assignments, I also hold my BS in Healthcare management.

In my nursing career I have worked in all aspects of healthcare; from family practice, pediatrics, geriatric care and community health. For over five years I was a nurse coordinator for a Community Health Worker Program. During that time I learned about body contouring and decided to have the services performed on myself in 2019. I automatically fell in love with the services and decided to dive deeper and became certified as a Body Contouring Specialist in November 2019. I opened my doors of a small studio in January 2020 and worked both jobs as a nurse coordinator and did my body contouring services on the weekends and some weekdays. Body contouring was fairly new to my hometown, which lead my business to take off and me also having more than 50% of my clientele travel to me to receive services.

In May 2021, I moved into a 3 space suite and quit my nursing job to fully commit to my business. This year (June 2022), I won $10,000 in a business pitch competition with Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce to expand Bodied by K, LLC and I invested in more cutting-edge technology equipment to better serve my clients. I would not be where I am today without having amazing clients and an amazing support system. I feel super blessed to be in this industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything remarkable will never be a straight smooth ride. Being an entrepreneur in itself has its challenges, I will say once I removed fear and decided to just “LEAP” everything became an easy sail. Having to make the decision to quit my full-time job and rely strictly on my business took a lot of faith, prayer and dedication but I’m here and I’m still evolving as a full-time spa owner.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Bodied by K, LLC is an established up-scale spa located at 765 Piney Forest Road, Danville, VA 24541. We offer a full range of premium and affordable body contouring services and esthetics consisting of Fat Reduction, Skin Tightening, Cellulite treatments, Vacuum Therapy, waxing, facials and so much more.

Our newest device is the VenusVersa, which is an innovative machine made by a global leading esthetics company called Venus Concept. This medical-grade machine helps with Fat Reduction/Skin Tightening, Laser (IPL) Permanent Hair Removal, Skin Resurfacing, and Acne treatments.

Our professional and personable staff consists of trained nurses and estheticians who strive to offer excellent customer service, products, and treatments available. We focus on making each customer’s visit with us enjoyable, therapeutic, and fun.

Our target audience is broad, and our services are unisex for individuals over 18 years of age. It is very important to us that our clients receive a unique experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

Bodied by K, LLC Day Spa’s hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00pm. We are currently book by appointment only, but we do accept walk-ins depending on availability. No personal information will be sold to any third party under any circumstances. We are centrally located near other businesses and residential neighborhoods that we believe is critical to our initial success and long-term growth.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Not only do I offer body contouring services but I’m also a Body Contouring Instructor and teach these courses. I’m honored to help others become their own boss and take a huge dive in this amazing industry which is projected to be a multi-million dollar industry by 2025.

We also love to give back, Bodied by K, LLC has participated in back-to-school drives, community health fairs, and much more. We are always looking for opportunities to collaborate and support other businesses.

We actually are collaborating with a Healthcare Center (GAPS Healthcare, Martinsville, VA) in November 2022 with a ton of other businesses. This event was organized by an amazing Nurse Practitioner whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside during my nursing career. The name of the event is called Women’s Wellness Weekend.
