Meet Amy Jo Wright of Amy Jo Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Jo Wright.

Amy Jo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was about 6 or 7 when my parents bought me my first 110 film camera! I took photos of everything from my teddy bears to my little brother. I remember one of the greatest joys I had back then was picking up that developed a roll of 4×6 prints. I guess you could say that my passion for this career started pretty early in my life!

In 9th grade, I was in a keyboarding class ( yep ) with an amazing teacher Mrs. Moore who believed in me like no other and made me fall in LOVE with marketing! I joined DECA that year and my path to self-discovery was set in motion.

The following year I was in the work program and part of that was being set in a job that I got paid to do but was also graded on. That amazing teacher I was talking about earlier placed me at a local photo lab called In & Out Photo. The owner there was a young, fun and knowledgeable guy who made work fun! Gabe gave me some of the greatest gifts he could have ever given me by teaching me everything about development, processing & printing but the best thing he taught me was how to use a 35mm camera!

I WAS IN LOVE with capturing the life around me.

For the remainder of high school, a camera never left my side. I truly captured my youth on film one frame at a time!

After high school, I decided to go to Lanier Tech for a graphic design degree. However, not long after my first semester I was in a motorcycle wreck and was so injured physically I didn’t go back. So after a string of sales positions one day I decided to look back into photography.

I bounced around from studio to studio developing my talent but never really taking it seriously until I met my future husband. He knew my love for it and asked me why I keep working for people who want me to shoot the way they want me to when I had so many people who Loved the way I shot?

In the Fall of 2009, I took my leap. I started Amy Jo Photography! I can honestly say that I have followed my dream and truly grabbed it and made it mine.

I have shot over 100 weddings, have been fortunate to watch children grow into brides & grooms and start a life of their own. This talent/gift I have has brought life, shared life & remembered life as it once was for so many people. At the end of our life all we have left are the moments we lived in it and to capture that for my clients is such a blessing to my soul.

My Love story is so important to me! My Heart is my family! My heart & soul goes into my photography! LOVE is my passion in life! Capturing it…. is my talent! I specialize in Weddings, Boudoir, Seniors & Family photography! { Let me Capture your LOVE }
