Hidden Gems: Meet Kimberly Hoston of Another Veggy Addict

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Hoston.

Hi Kimberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta from Syracuse NY in 1994. I become a well-established choreographer, performer, Actor, Singer, etc. In 20013, I decided to give all that up and started cooking for 1 of the top Catering companies in Atlanta where I became a vegetarian Chef. When Covid hit, I took a leap of Faith and wanted to start a website selling recipes. I literally heard God tell me “Another Veggy Addict” so I journaled it and thought maybe it is sposed to be a book lol. I had a friend tell me don’t do recipes get your Food out there and let people taste your food. My husband worked for Nalley at the time so he asked the GM if I could sell some of my plates. It was a go. I started doing healthy meal preps for salesmen from dealership to dealership. I would get my hot bag and my little black wagon and walk around dealerships asking if they wanted a meal. I kept going and ventured out to other businesses. Even when some days I sold nothing God told me “Just Keep Cooking” I was doing some Pop Ups with a lot of different vendors networking and meeting new people and getting more clients. I was serving a young lady at a salon when I got the opportunity of a lifetime. 18 months later I have my very own bistro. All I want to do is plant seeds in people by helping them see healthy eating is easy it’s just eating without the meat. I really want to be of service and help bring communities together through healthy foods staying healthy 1 Veggy at a time. God has a plan. I know this is bigger than me and I’m so grateful where I am and I can’t wait what’s to come. Let AVA do the cooking ☺️

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not knowing if I was gonna sell any meals or plans. Drive from store to store no gas. Wondering if I should go back to a job. I have learned how good God is. Some weeks would be good some nothing at all but a lesson… Got so behind in bills and lived off credit but everything has always been taken care of and now I have a store lol 🙏

We’ve been impressed with Another Veggy Addict, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is healthy eating and spiritual-based company. I specialize in healthy vegetarian/vegan meals to grab n go. I’m known for good food and customer service. AVA offers grab n go most meals all come with a Veggy and fruit. Healthy convenience. People trust AVA. Let AVA do the Cooking. Healthy meals planting seeds of better eating habits.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, inner self and awareness. I am worth it. It’s okay not to know. Prayer and meditation. Take care of yourself.
