Hidden Gems: Meet Quinten Foster of Quintessential Sports Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinten Foster.

Hi Quinten, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up my love and passion for the game of basketball started at the age of five years old. As I continued to play the game of basketball, I learned even though I was a skilled player, the more valuable lessons I learned were from my preparation, approach and attention to detail. Now as my journey continues, it is my goal to help the next generation of players reach their goals from what my knowledge I gained.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Overcoming obstacles such as self-doubt, complacency and not taking initiative to make a change. However, I am a firm believer in there is beauty during the struggle, and the more you work the better your chances of improving your odds of being successful. The quote that began to lead in the right direct is “Growth only comes outside of your comfort zone. “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not improving.”

As you know, we’re big fans of Quintessential Sports Training, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Quintessential Sports Training is a basketball training company created by myself to help develop the skills of all players who enter our program. I am the Owner and Head Skills Trainer.

Our ultimate goal is to give you high-quality coaching and enhance you ability to perform on the court. In these training sessions, we will focus on skill development, studying techniques, expanding players’ knowledge of the game and preparing them for game-time action.

What separates us for other brands and companies is we start with relationships first. It is my goal that whenever a player enters my program, they are able to trust me first. Trust is gained through conversation and learning who I am potentially going to work with. Players want to know that you are knowledgeable and have their best interest at heart.

Extremely proud of how my brand has continued to affect my client’s life on the court and off. There is such a gratifying feeling hearing that my players are excelling from our lessons and reaching their goals. In addition, it is even better hearing the life lessons we teach such as consistency, studying and preparation have been used in other ways and my clients become productive clients outside the game of basketball.

My hope is that your readers learn that through the game of basketball we teach how to improve skills. Also, from our training we hope you, your son or daughter learn valuable life lessons.

Time and Investments are two big concepts for me. Prior to and even after I begin working with any player, I make sure to attend/watch as many games as possible, Watch hours and hours of film of my clients, many long nights making sure to have everything prepared for my next session. Consistently seeking knowledge of how to expand myself as better trainer and even help my clients improve as well. There is never a moment where I know it all, have been and always will be a student of the game.
