Meet Crysten Curry, Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger in Smryna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crysten Curry.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I played Division 1 volleyball for four years and always dreamed of starting my own blog. As a student-athlete, it’s really difficult to comply with NCAA rules while having a blog, so I held off until I graduated. After graduation, I was working a 9-5 in the legal services industry and wanted a creative outlet to connect with other women, document this chapter of my life, share beauty and fashion tips and more! I took a hard look at myself and thought, “how long are you going to watch everyone else go for their dreams before you decide to go for yours?

So, in August 2016, I took a leap of faith and launched Crystencurry.com and I haven’t looked back since. Nowadays, readers can check out my page for all things inner and outer beauty. I work hard to look and feel my best and I want to connect with other women doing the same.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course not! Crystencurry.com has been an emotional road of ups and downs, but the ups make it hard for me to ever walk away. When people think of the blogging industry, one of the first things to come to mind is the word “oversaturated”. Every day, thousands of people are joining the community, which makes it imperative that you’re curating content that is a true representation of your individuality. It’s easy to get sucked into the trends that boost popularity and growth, but I’ve chosen to build a following that is organic and authentic. It’s more rewarding that way. I’d rather be writing to other women that are truly taking something from what I’ve said then trying to sell fast-fashion to the masses. Not to mention, the hours and hours of teaching myself HTML and CSS coding. There are so many things that go on behind-the-scenes of one, aesthetically-pleasing blog post and I think many people overlook that.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Crysten Curry – Fashion and Lifestyle Blog – what should we know?
What separates crystencurry.com from other blogs is simply the content. I’m all about how fashion, beauty and wellness make you feel and that’s what I want my readers to grasp. I’m writing for the girl that:
– loves to lead a healthy lifestyle, but also indulge every once in a while;
– works out to maintain healthy mind, body and spirit;
– hustles towards her career goals;
– is interested in deepening her relationship with Christ;
– strives to be the best in everything she does… and wants to look great doing it!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Entrepreneurship is pretty terrifying, so I’ve been blessed to have a team of family and friends that help me navigate this world. Whether that’s constant words of encouragement and guidance from my parents, my brother’s business insight and counsel, my boyfriend’s photography skills on his off days or my best friends sending me content ideas – it has taken a village. So many of my loved ones have had their hands in making this blog what it is today and that’s the most meaningful part of it all. It’s truly a labor of love.
