Hi Theressa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Theressa, and I am a nurse practitioner in aesthetics. I have always been passionate about helping others, and my journey to becoming a nurse practitioner has been an exciting and rewarding one.
Growing up, my family faced a challenge that would shape my perspective on life and fuel my passion for healthcare. When I was just ten years old, my younger sister was diagnosed with cancer. It was a devastating blow to our family, and my sister’s journey through cancer treatment was long and difficult.
I started my career in healthcare over ten years ago as a registered nurse after completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. My early years as a nurse were spent working in a variety of healthcare settings, including medical-surgical units and critical care units. I spent the majority of my time in the pediatric intensive care unit, PICU. While I enjoyed working in these settings, I began to realize that I wanted to focus on a different aspect of healthcare.
I completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree and worked in non-surgical orthopedics for five years. While in this setting, I was introduced to the world of regenerative medicine. I decided to pursue further education and training in the field of aesthetics, specifically in regenerative aesthetics.
As a nurse practitioner in aesthetics, I am committed to ongoing education and training. I believe in taking a holistic approach in the care I provide. I take the time to get to know my clients, understand their goals and concerns, and work with them to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their unique needs.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a black female entrepreneur, I did experience discrimination in the lending process while seeking capital to start my business. Despite these challenges, I was able to secure the funding I needed to open my doors in January of 2023.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lavish Rejuvenations?
I wanted to create a space where people could learn more about the aesthetic treatments available to them and the benefits of each. Having a passion for people is the foundation of my medical spa. I am passionate about helping people feel more confident and empowered through aesthetic treatments. My services include a wide range of cosmetic and wellness treatments -including injectables, PRP skin rejuvenations, hair restoration, vitamin injections, and microneedling. . I take pride in providing a personalized experience to each of my clients and strive to make the process as stress-free and comfortable as possible. I understand that when it comes to aesthetics, everyone is different and that it can be intimidating to take the plunge and try something new. My goal is to partner with my clients to bring out their most youthful, radiant self.
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans include expanding my business, so I can offer my services to a broader customer base. I plan to open new locations and partner with other businesses in the beauty and wellness industry.
