Today we’d like to introduce you to MJ Lee.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s not been a smooth road. I’ve been doing this for 30 years in Atlanta.

I’m just now starting to see the rewards of all that hard work. But I don’t know anyone more dedicated to this scene than me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I throw parties and events in Atlanta. I’ve done everything from being the first promoter to ever bringing a lot of the acts that are huge now. Such as Skrillex, Excision, Shpongle, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Adventure Club, and probably 100 more.

I brought them here first. Also, I’ve always pushed Drum n Bass ever since my start in this business. But 5 years ago I could see the resurgence of the sound coming so I went full time into it. This culminated with us throwing the largest Drum n Bass event in America last year. Right here in Atlanta. Something we are looking to repeat this year.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Never give up. No matter what.
