Meredeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have two roles- one being a franchise sales & development consultant and VP and the other is an online boutique owner. I have never been much of a “fashionista” myself but started to notice as I got older, that there less options for women my age, in their mid-forties. I wanted to be age-appropriate but also stylish. I wasn’t ready for Chicco’s! I knew if I was struggling, others might be as well.
I also wanted the goal to be that I generated enough money to give back to the community. So far, I have been able to provide brand-new and gently used clothing to The Bloom Closet a non-profit organization that provides free clothing, books, toys, school supplies, and more to foster children and their families in Georgia.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the age of online retail, there are so many options, and it takes A LOT of advertising dollars to be seen in addition to building an online community of loyal customers. That being said, anything worth having or doing takes hard work and determination.

Diversification and agility are key to whatever you decide to do. You know the old saying, “never put all your eggs in one basket.” Truer words have never been spoken and one should always stay open to new ideas and ways of doing business or livin their life. Explore multiple ways of generating an income and be ready to pivot quickly in both your personal and professional life.
As the founder of two chicks consulting, I am constantly striving to use my skills and knowledge to raise the bar in franchising for my clients. Whether that is through understanding the latest & greatest way to market their franchise or by bringing in the right experts to have a seat at the table. Their business is my business and my goal is to always leave them better than when I came.
