Hi Wangare, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My culinary journey began in Kenya, where I first dabbled with ingredients and flavors as a young girl. However, it wasn’t until I made the leap to the United States at 19 that my passion truly ignited. Immersed in a melting pot of cultures, I embarked on a flavorful exploration, experimenting with diverse cuisines and techniques. 

Along the way, I’ve cultivated a vibrant online community, sharing my culinary adventures, from experimenting in my kitchen to exploring restaurants and reviewing their delectable offerings. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s a trial-and-error process. Finding my authentic voice amidst various approaches was a challenge. However, embracing authenticity and letting things unfold naturally has been the key to overcoming hurdles along the way. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my professional life, I specialize in investigating fraud for a fintech company. My keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills serve me well in this role. However, during my spare time, I enjoy exploring the culinary world. 

Recently, I’ve been traveling more, visiting restaurants, and thoroughly enjoying the experience of reviewing them. While I find joy in cooking at home, I’ve found myself seeking a change of scenery and embracing the adventure of trying new cuisines. Striking a balance between my professional and personal interests has been a rewarding journey, and I’m proud of the growth and exploration it has brought me. 

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is undoubtedly my son! His laughter, his hugs, simply seeing him grow and thrive fills my heart with joy beyond measure. He stands as my foremost supporter, consistently cheering me on in every endeavor. At almost 11, he reminds me to keep challenging myself and chase my dreams. One of those dreams, which we worked together on, is The Foodie Alphabet Book for Awesome Children, which can be purchased on Amazon.
