Life & Work with Monique Dior of Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Dior

Hi Monique, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved to Georgia in March 2022 after being a Florida resident all my life. I decided to step out on faith an go after my career in acting and modeling. I had been traveling from Florida to various locations to be apart of fashion shows and different events. When I moved here it did not start off as easy as I planned it to but things soon got better. I began networking, which helped me advance my modeling career. In late 2022 I began to book more modeling shows. When 2023 came around I made a vision board and set goals for myself with my modeling and acting career. Most of the goals that were on there I obtained like being in more than 10 fashion shows, be consistent with posting content on my Youtube channel, and grow my channel, and also do background acting for several popular shows and movies. I got back into taking acting classes with my acting coach Carl Kennedy MFA. I also joined a modeling group Goals Plus Gigs which also helped me further my education in modeling and expand to different opportunities. Working with that modeling group I was very active and it has been extremely helpful. Now to 2024, it has also been a great year thus far, in January I walked in 2 fashion shows, in February for New York Fashion Week I was featured on the billboard in Times Square with Goals Plus Gigs. In March, I was casted in a movie with my first featured speaking role. i took the month of April to slow down a little bit but May has been very active.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy and I’m still on this journey. When I moved here in 2022, I was scammed out of my apartment. I moved in March and had to be out by May 1st. When that happened I was ready to pack my stuff back up and move right back to Tallahassee, but after I cried about it I decided that going back home was not an option. I was homeless (staying at a hotel about a week or 2) until I found out that I had a cousin up here and she allowed me to stay with her until I got another place. I had day to day work because my mind was set on my career and I didn’t want to get stuck in another 9 to 5 job but that was not working out for me the way I would prefer. I am a person who has to have certainty and a plan and with the day to day working there was no security and that scared me. I eventually got a regular job and I still was able to do background work and modeling events. This journey has not been smooth at all but I have not given up or changed my mind, I know that God got me and I will not fail because he is constantly making a way for me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Monique Dior an actress, brand ambassador, content creator/ YouTuber, print and runway model. I am a member of the model group (sisterhood) Goals Plus Gigs. I am most proud of my 1st featured speaking role in the movie that is dropping this fall. The thing that sets me apart from others is my determination and my drive to be great. When I am committed to something I give it my all and I do it all with love. My spirit and love for the craft and willingness to learn is admirable.

What’s next?
I have so many future plans and with God’s help they will become my reality. I plan to be in more movies with the leading role. I also plan to write movies/stage plays, and a book. I look forward to seeing myself as a season regular on a scripted tv show. I plan to continue to model with my group Goals Plus Gigs, hit the runway, and elevate my modeling career.
