Inspiring Conversations with Tasha Turnbull of T2 Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Turnbull

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey by taking control of my life. I felt like life was slipping away from me while everyone else seemed to have a clear direction and purpose. In contrast, I was just drifting along, stuck in a job that was meant to be prestigious but felt mundane and uninspiring. My life was monotonous and unfulfilling, leading me to mindlessly work and eat whatever I wanted. I was deeply depressed and felt completely lost.

I realized that if I didn’t take action, I would soon weigh over 300 pounds and face severe hypertension, especially since I’d been dealing with borderline hypertension for years. I knew I had a limited window of time to make a change because if I didn’t act soon, my depression would become too overwhelming to overcome. So I looked to fitness, particularly strength training as something for me to do to past the time.

Movement became my savior; it provided the outlet I needed to gain confidence and trust in myself. By familiarizing myself with gym equipment, learning about the body’s muscles, and reading extensively about nutrition, I started to realize the physical power and mental toughness that come from leading a healthier lifestyle. The discipline I developed through these choices helped me lose 100 pounds. From there, I found my purpose: helping others lead the healthiest lifestyle they can. Today, I continue this mission through the various wellness services I offer via my businesses.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been several bumps and potholes along the way! One of the biggest challenges I face daily is decision fatigue from being a solopreneur. Although I have staff to handle various tasks associated with running the business, all major decisions flow through me, and that can be draining.

I’ve been in business for 15 years now, and let me tell you, the fitness industry has changed significantly! Finding unique ways to reinvent and reinvigorate audiences about your services in the heavily saturated, post-pandemic fitness industry, amidst an ever-evolving, technology and AI-driven world, is both challenging and daunting. It requires a highly dedicated, determined, and pragmatic individual to adjust and execute through the highs and lows.

It’s been real but even on my worse worse worse day, I wouldn’t trade what I do and the impact I’ve made on people’s lives. At the end of the day, I ALWAYS find a way to get the job done. Always!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Not all networking is beneficial. As an entrepreneur, you don’t have time to attend every networking event, and it often isn’t a good use of your time. Even if you have an excellent product or service, not everyone will be interested, and this applies to people at networking events as well. Before deciding to attend a networking event, identify the major challenges you need to address in your business and potential solutions. Then, aim to connect with individuals or companies who can help you solve these problems. Additionally, seek out those who are excelling in areas where your company is struggling. The goal isn’t to ask anyone to solve your problems but to learn from their successes. Look for ways your company can benefit from their strategies and experiences.
