Hi Darlisa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with a deep passion for fashion and Greek paraphernalia. In the fall of 2017, I founded So Phresh N So Greek Boutique, LLC, driven by my love for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and my unique sense of style.

I graduated from Western Kentucky University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate and Organizational Communications, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Organizational Leadership. My sorority experience started in the fall of 2014 when I was initiated into the Mu Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Combining my educational background and my sorority involvement, I created a brand that reflects my individuality and dedication to Greek life. So Phresh N So Greek Boutique represents not just my love for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. but also my vision for fashionable Greek apparel. Today, our brand is known for its distinctive style and quality, resonating with Greek members who share a passion for fashion and sorority/fraternity pride.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to building So Phresh N So Greek has not always been smooth. Like any entrepreneurial journey, we’ve encountered our fair share of challenges. One significant hurdle was obtaining the necessary licensure to produce and sell Greek paraphernalia. Navigating the legal and regulatory requirements was complex and time-consuming, but ensuring that our products were officially recognized and compliant with organizational standards was essential.

Another major challenge was maintaining consistent manufacturing quality control. Ensuring that every piece met our high design, material, and craftsmanship standards required finding reliable manufacturers and developing stringent quality control processes. There were instances of delays and production errors that needed immediate attention and resolution to maintain the integrity of our brand.

Despite these obstacles, we stayed true to our vision. Each challenge was a valuable learning experience, reinforcing our determination and enhancing our operations. Today, we take pride in offering high-quality, stylish Greek apparel that our customers love and trust.
