Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyeriah Miles
Hi Keyeriah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ladies Who Golf was founded by a mother-daughter duo, Keyeriah & Lashonda Miles, established September 16th, 2023. A prestigious golf community based in Atlanta, GA, Ladies Who Golf offers group lessons to professional career women and the opportunity to engage on a social and charitable level. While we are majority women of color, we are an INCLUSIVE golf community for EVERY woman. With an expansion of chapters in Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, D.C., Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Seattle, Ladies Who Golf is now the largest golf community for women throughout the United States.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When creating Ladies Who Golf, we wanted to ensure we created a golf community in which women could feel COMFORTABLE learning the sport at their own pace. Being a male dominant field much like many of workspaces, golf can be intimidating if you do not have the right resources. From golf course access to affordable golf clubs sets to start with. For women, not many of our peers are taking up the sport so also finding like-mind women to form your new hobby with can be a bit difficult. Ladies Who Golf provides a solution to every problem by providing a community of like-mind professional career women interested in learning the game of golf, access to private and semi-private golf course and clubs across the nation, and networking to excel alongside one another.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ladies Who Golf?
Through our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, we are focused on providing resources to join community charitable efforts, mentorship to youth golfers, promote mental health and awareness through our monthly wellness events, professional development, and the opportunity to bond with like-minded women.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Surprisingly enough, we fell as if the new generation of young leaders have lost sight of having or instilling mentorship in their day to day lives. A mentor does not have to be someone who the majority idolizes with thousands of social followers. A mentor is someone who can share wisdom regarding the path you are wanting to take in life, guide you in finding a new path if needed, and helping you find connections along the way. This is why Ladies Who Golf is launching Girls Who Golf Inc, allowing young ladies who are rising high school and college students not only the opportunity to take up the sport of golf, but to connect and pair with a Lady Who Golf. As a mentor, the ladies will have the opportunity to assist with their golf and LIFE journey.
