Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Remillard.
Joe, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I often forget that I was an attorney. After three years of practicing in New York, I switched directions and headed South to earn my masters in painting from the University of Georgia. I have never looked back.
I am now a full professor of drawing and painting at Kennesaw State University, located north of Atlanta. I paint and draw daily and am represented by Mason Fine Arts in Atlanta.
For the past two years , I have been selected as a Finalist in the ARC Annual Salon. My work has been featured on the cover of International Artist Magazine. A few years ago American Artist Magazine published a feature about my work and process and The Artist Magazine select me as an artist of the month.
What would you say has been the biggest challenge for you over the course of your career?
Budgeting time to produce art.
What would you tell someone who is just starting out?
Create a schedule which allocates time each day (at least two hours) to create art.
