Today we’d like to introduce you to Tranika Warner
Hi Tranika, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started G&O Commercial cleaning about 3 years ago. I come from a background in property management, I was a Regional VP of Property Management for a company based out in California and collectively I have about 12 years experience in the industry.
During my time there, we dealt with a lot of commercial janitorial companies with our properties and every time I used to think to myself, “Why am I never pleased with their services? If I had a commercial janitorial company, I would know what to look for, what to do, and how to do it to go above and beyond for my apartment complexes.”
It really didn’t hit me what I was saying until about a month later a good friend of mine was like “Tranika, you have so much experience and connections with people in the apartment industry & with the Atlanta Apartment Association, their are about less than 50 commercial janitorial companies associated with them, why don’t you start a commercial janitorial company and service your industry.” From there, that’s when G&O Commercial cleaning was born.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not a smooth road. I think with many businesses, you run into obstacles and challenges each and everyday. Especially at the beginning.
Some of the challenges that we ran into was getting into the door with apartments. I say this because most apartments and property managers are loyal to their cleaning company or they may be afraid to make that jump to try someone new.
Even though I know they aren’t happy with their current cleaners, many property managers just use who their familiar with or the company that was in place prior to their arrival.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As stated previously, I come from a property management background. I was a Regional VP of Property Management for a company based out in California with collectively 12+ years experience in the industry.
I’m most proud of the title that I have/had because It shows that you can work your way up in the industry once you stay in it. I started out as a Leasing Professional. My dedication that I have/had in the industry helped me become the person I am today.
And that’s what sets me apart from other Janitorial Companies who may serve the Apartment Industry. When training my team, I know what to look for, I know what the property manager want, and I know how to deliver it because I sat in there seat dealing with the frustrations of their Janitorial Company they may not be happy with.
So when we go in many the Property Managers or Community Managers, their blown away because I explain to them of my background and I know what to look for! I have that keen eye you have to have when working in the industry.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love our city because of the different professionals & like minded individuals you may meet. Everyone either has an established business or just starting their business. We all sort of think a lot to get to a common goal, which is creating something that you love.
Like most people may say, I dislike the traffic! You know it gets out of control here.
