Meet Gary Gracia of Lawrenceville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Gracia

Hi Gary, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Two years ago, my wife and I moved from Maryland to Atlanta with our two young children, seeking a fresh start—closer to family, warmer weather, and a change of pace. During the pandemic, like many, I faced immense challenges. Balancing work-from-home life, homeschooling kids under five, and navigating isolation pushed me into a deep depression and strained my marriage. Through counseling and our faith in God, my wife and I rebuilt our connection and found renewed purpose, ultimately deciding to begin anew in Atlanta.

In my journey to redefine myself as a man, father, and husband, I explored new paths, becoming a life coach. While meaningful, I discovered that such a role demands a profound calling, one that I wasn’t prepared to carry. This year, as I turned 40, my world shifted again when my father passed away just weeks after my milestone birthday. His loss fractured my soul but also clarified my principles and solidified my faith. I now know what I believe, who I believe in, and why I do what I do.

One of the last conversations I had with my father was about my consideration of becoming a real estate agent—to meet people, connect more deeply with Atlanta, and grow in a healthy way. After his passing, I ran into the realtor who sold me my home, and his encouragement inspired me to follow through on that idea. Today, I’m proud to say that I’ve embraced this path, not as a salesperson, but as someone who values connection and story.

I believe everyone has a story, and homes are an essential part of those stories. My dad’s story shaped me, and now, I hope to help others find a home that fits theirs. If I can play a role in your journey, I’d be honored to do so. Moments matter, and I want to make them count.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. The journey has been anything but smooth. Losing my father unexpectedly was a crushing blow. Balancing the grief with planning his funeral, fixing up a home in another state, maintaining my role as a husband and father, and simultaneously studying for my real estate license felt overwhelming. It was hectic and emotionally taxing. But through it all, I discovered strength I didn’t know I had and clarity about who I am and who I’m not. Those struggles defined me and set the foundation for my path forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a real estate agent at Atlanta Communities, specializing in communication and exceptional client service—qualities that not all agents consistently provide in ATL. My approach is grounded in understanding my clients’ stories and goals, ensuring every interaction is personal and meaningful. I’m known for my integrity, communication, and ability to simplify complex processes.

What sets me apart is my journey—my commitment to family, resilience through challenges, and passion for building genuine relationships. I’m most proud of helping people find homes that align with their unique stories and futures.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality I value most in my success is authenticity. I firmly believe that chasing money reduces people to tools, while caring about individuals fosters genuine connections. My approach centers on meeting and helping people in a meaningful and respectful way. While financial success is rewarding, the connections I build and the moments I share with others hold far greater significance. This mindset keeps me grounded and purpose-driven in my work, creating trust and mutual respect with the people I serve.
